Not leaving leaves behind

Chasing the Setting Sun

Charles' Sculptures

These are two of Charles Henri Ford's sculptures that intrigue me the most; especially the one set against the high window. It is placed against the light on purpose. The idea is to cast the shadow on the floor, as can be seen in the picture. Gives me the eerie feeling of Mayan sacrifices. It is made of bronze.

The other one, made of wood, as can be guessed easily is two lovers.

And the one below is just the close-up of the wooden lovers.

The Boot

I boot my computer because I had this boot in my mind for sometimes now. I was looking for a way to boot it out from my mind and put it in my blog.

When my car was Denver boot yesterday, I had to walk in the rain without my boots. I missed my boots really bad. But it helped me overcome my procrastination of giving my boots a place in my blog.

Again, I, without intending it, came across Charlie Chaplain eating his boot in Gold Rush. This, furthermore, made me bet my boots that it is high time I put my boots in my blog.

Feast for Tongue or Feast for Eyes?

I found this tomato in Pacific Supermarket. The moment I laid my eyes on it, it made me smile. Before it is turned into spicy mouth-watering chutney, I thought I would give it a place in my blog because this 'robust' tomato speaks volumes !!

Belated Pumpkin

My pumpkin is late. Halloween is right round the corner and my pumpkin is not even adult.

It was just a flower not too long ago, and one morning I saw it turn into that wee little gourd.

I was hoping it would make it till Halloween but I gave up hope.

Though it is growing real fast, I am sure it will never be able to turn itself into that ripe lustrous orange Halloween pumpkin by Halloween this year.

Oh, how I wish I had sown it little earlier!!!

My poor belated pumpkin!!

How I wish it was ripe and ready as the one below!!!

Swan Song? Three Little Birds?

We went to Godek's Farm, New Jersey to get a goat for ourself for Dashain last Saturday - 16 October, 2010. Like most Nepali in USA we were not satisfied with the regular goat or mostly lamb meat we buy off grocery stores for other occasions. It was Dashain after all.

At the farm these three little birds greeted us with their cackles. The myth about Swan Song and the Bob Marley song Three Little Birds came to mind immediately.

Swan Song in reality is a myth because the Mute Swan is not actually mute and it does not sing a beautiful song before dying. Neither Bob Marley sang about geese, the song, most probably was about sparrows.

Whatever it was, I captured the moment in my video.

Street Installation

Zina's school might have contributed to it. Or maybe not.

The colorful broken chairs seemed to have come out from the school as trash. They were just outside the side door of PS 3 (Lower Manhattan), at the curb along with other trash.
An artist, no doubt, might have seen beauty even in the heap of trash. All he or she needed was to put his or her artistic touch here and there and lo' there was this beautiful installation beckoning passersby to gawk at it, walk around it or take photos if they happen to walk down Groove St. that day with their camera handy.

Death of a Bitter Gourd

Following three pictures were taken with in a time frame of one hour.

The bitter gourd looked sad and crestfallen. Seemed tired and at the threshold of it's death. After awhile it opened up a little bit. I could see it had turned bit red, more crestfallen. Looked much sprawled, seemed to have given up it's present body. Opened up wider, little later, looked like dead...lost it's form...lost it's natural existence.

But again, every death is another beginning...
